Young Adults in Christian Service,

aka The YACS

Our mission is to make our community a better place for everyone.  From helping at animal shelters to running donation drives for local shelters, we follow the Word of Jesus Christ by going out into the community and giving back. Our Christian faith is what unites us and inspires us to participate in this group. In our first month as a group dedicated to community service, we have helped with a Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless at Lake Merritt UMC, met with Concord’s vice mayor to discuss how we can help with the local charity “Change 4 Real Change,” and ran a clothing donation drive for our local shelters. We gathered over $1000 worth of new clothing! This is just the beginning for us. We are small in membership, but large in energy and faith.

We are based out of Concord United Methodist Church, but many of our members attend other churches. No matter the denomination, you are welcome to join.

We meet on the every Sunday at Noon in Sherrill Hall. We also have our SOSS (Serve on Second Saturday). On the Second Saturday of every month, we do a hand-on service project.
